I had always wanted to visit Bali, with its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and breathtaking landscapes. So when I finally got the opportunity to travel there last summer, I was beyond thrilled. I had planned to explore the island’s natural beauty, and had some activity to do on my bucketlist, such as ATV quad bike tours in Ubud, mounth batur sunrise hiking, water sliding at Lemukih, trekking at sekumpul waterfall and Ayung River White Water Rafting in Ubud.
Second days in Bali, I woke up early on the day of the rafting trip, excited for the adventure that lay ahead. I was book this Ayung river rafting trip with ayungrafting.com, a rafting company in Ubud, Bali. I was picked up from my bed and breakfast in Ubud, by a driver who took me to the starting point of the rafting tour. Along the way, I took in the beautiful scenery of rice paddies and traditional Balinese villages. Ubud is always stunning and beautiful.
When we arrived at the registration point, full fill some registration form, complete the payment, they accepted cash in USD or IDR and card. Then, I was introduced to the rafting guide who would be leading us through the river. He help us to wear the gear ( helmet and lifejacket ) gave us a brief safety briefing and instructions on how to paddle and maneuver the raft. I was assigned to a group of four other travelers who were as excited as I was to experience the thrill of white water rafting. We drive again about 5 minutes by truck to get the river, walk on some rice paddy field and walk down about 300 steps to get the river side.
We set off on our raft, paddling through calm waters at first, and enjoying the stunning scenery along the banks of the Ayung River. The guide pointed out various landmarks and natural wonders, including waterfalls, magnificent lush of ayung river valley and carving on the wall of the river.
As we approached the first rapid, I could feel my heart racing with excitement. The guide expertly navigated us through the fast-flowing water, and we all let out a collective cheer as we emerged unscathed. The next few rapids were even more challenging, with swirling currents and waves that sent our raft bouncing up and down.
The guide gave us instructions on when to paddle harder and when to brace ourselves for impact. We worked together as a team, shouting out instructions and cheering each other on as we tackled each rapid with increasing confidence.
As we continued along the river, we were surrounded by stunning scenery, including towering cliffs and lush green forests. The guide pointed out various species of plants and green canopy of natural jungle surround the Ayung river and we see another waterfall and more bigger.
At one point, we stopped at a secluded spot along the riverbank, where local people offers you to buy fresh coconut juice or beer. We enjoyed the drink while taking in the serene beauty of the river and the surrounding jungle .
After the break, we continued our adventure down the Ayung River, encountering even more challenging rapids that tested our skills and teamwork. But with the expert guidance of our rafting guide, we managed to navigate through each one successfully.
Finally, we reached the end of our journey, and we were all exhilarated and exhausted at the same time. We had experienced the rush of white water rafting, and we had also witnessed the natural beauty of Bali in a way that we could not have otherwise. Shower and amenities provided, delicious buffet lunch provided.
As we said our goodbyes to our guide and the other travelers, I knew that this was an experience that I would cherish for the rest of my life.
